Sensitivity varies by skin type. Users should be advised to conduct a local skin tolerance test (e.g. on the inner arm or behind the ear) before use.
For cosmetics containing retinol, sun protection is required during daytime use.Use by women who are pregnant or planning pregnancy is not recommended.Some sensitive users may experience redness, flaking, stinging, itching or dryness 2–3 days after starting retinol. These effects can be relieved by enhancing moisturization (e.g. adding ceramides), or temporarily suspend use for 1–2 days if severe, then resume after skin tolerance is established.
